The Hebrew word that is translated “to prophesy” means “to flow forth” It carries the thought “to bubble forth like a fountain, to let drop, to lift up, to tumble forth, to spring forth.” The Greek word that is translated “to prophesy” means “to speak for another.” It means to speak for God, or to be His spokesman. We read in 1 Corinthians 14:31 that this gift is for all so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. However, as Simon Braker reflects, “The biggest hindrance to people stepping out and growing in the prophetic is the fear of getting it wrong.”

We will look at what it means to take God at His word. An overview of the integrity of God’s word, as it pertains to our mandate to “live by faith.” The God kind of faith as enjoined to the believer today. The difference between soulish faith and faith born of the Spirit. What faith “isn’t;” i.e. faith, foolishness, or presumption. Students will discover critical patterns of how Jesus is able to respond to those He loves, and how He has to know what they beleive, before He can move in their behalf.

God’s Word says that “no man hath at any time seen God, but if we would love one another, God would dwell in us” (1 John 4:12). The implication is that the only way man (whom we’re trying to reach) is going to see God, is when they see Him in us. They’ve seen very little, as we’ve laid other foundations than the one we’re instructed to lay as shown in Ephesians 3. This course helps the believer to put first things first, and to create the foundation in their life that will allow successful building for the future.

Often in the Body of Christ, decisions are made in the committee room, and then prayed over. The scriptural pattern is that decisions are made in the prayer room, and then committed to. Students will discover for themselves how not to allow prayer to become an attachment to their days, but rather the launching place of their days. These teachings will help bring great release in achieving intimacy with the Father first and foremost, and build faith that God is indeed in the business of answering the cries of His children.
